국민연금 환급금 Corporation, reorganizes health and national pension insurance premium overpayment refunds (~7/13)

국민연금 환급금The National Health Insurance Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the Corporation) announced that it will operate an ‘insurance premium refund liquidation period’ until July 13 to return refunds of overpayment of health insurance and national pension premiums that have not been claimed by citizens. In the meantime, the Corporation has made a lot of effort to return refunds that inevitably accrued due to workplaces being late in reporting employment or resignation, or subscribers failing to report property changes on time (payment rate of 99.1% for health insurance, 98.8% for national pension), but in 2018, As of the end of May, unclaimed refunds amounted to 37.4 billion won, including 15.6 billion won for health insurance and 21.8 billion won for national pension. Among these, for local health insurance subscribers, about half were small refunds of less than 50,000 won, which is a case in which public interest is low. It was confirmed that in most cases, the representative (corporation) does not visit the workplace due to business closure, etc. In order to more actively return refunds that have not been picked up, the Corporation operates an ‘Insurance Premium Refund Clearance Period’ to provide guidance by phone and mail, and customers who receive guidance can use the Internet or smartphone app (M Health Insurance) without visiting the Corporation. You can check and apply for a refund immediately at the customer center (1577-1000). In particular, in collaboration with the Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings and Clearings Institute and the National Tax Service, so that you can apply for an insurance premium refund on the website of a frequently used related institution, it has also been available on the website of the relevant institution since May of this year. It was possible to apply for a refund. An official from the corporation’s integrated collection office said, “Refunds are issued within 3 years from the date of payment of insurance premiums in accordance with Article 91 (statute of limitations) of the National Health Insurance Act and Article 115 (statute of limitations) of the National Pension Act. He expressed regret, saying, “If you do not apply for a pension within 5 years, your precious right to receive it will lapse.” He also repeatedly emphasized, “The ways to check and find refunds have become more diverse and simpler, and I hope you will be able to get them even if it is only a small amount.” In addition, he said, “We will continue to develop more diverse and convenient application methods so that insurance premium refunds can be found more quickly.”
