hello. These days, there are many people who ride bicycles for short distances to reduce environmental pollution, reduce transportation costs, and improve personal health. Local governments are also increasingly renting public bicycles. Then, below, I will write about how to use Ttareungi rental, fee, and return method.

What is Ttareung?

Ttareungi refers to public bicycles that are available to anyone in Seoul. With Ttareungyi, you can help citizens’ health, reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and realize low-carbon, green growth.

In addition, bicycles are placed throughout the rental offices so that you can move conveniently for short distances, which can help make Seoul a cleaner and world-class bicycle city.

Ttareungi can be used by both members and non-members. After purchasing a ticket on the app or PC, renting a bicycle at the rental office, and returning it to the rental office after riding.

Ttareungi type

There are three main types of Ttareungi bikes. There are three types: LCD type Ttareungyi, QR type New Ttareungyi, and Sprout Ttareungi. 따릉이 사용법

The LCD-type Ttareungi can be seen as an older type of Ttareungi, and it is a bicycle that has an LCD terminal attached to it and is used by paying the usage fee. 좋은뉴스
The new QR-type Ttareungi is an upgraded Ttareungi, a bicycle with a QR-type terminal dotted with IoT technology. Compared to the existing LCD-type terminals, maintenance costs are low, malfunctions are small, and unauthorized use can be blocked.
Since the Sprout Ttareungi is a compact model and small and light, it is a good bike for teenagers and small adults. It is only small in size, but you can think of it as a QR type Ttareungi.

As such, the rental method for Ttareungi bikes may vary depending on the type.

However, if you search for rental shops, you can’t find a single LCD-type Ttareungi, and in most cases you can only rent QR-type Ttareungi or Sprout Ttareungi. It is said that the LCD type will disappear in the future, and all will be replaced by the QR type Ttareungi by the year 22.

Therefore, in this article, I will write only about the QR type Ttareungi and the sprout Ttareungi, excluding the LCD type Ttareungi.

How to rent a QR-type Ttareungi

Download the Ttareungyi app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
After that, you can sign up as a member or purchase a pass as a non-member. Non-members are only eligible for a one-day pass.
After purchasing the ticket, click the Rent button on the home screen of the app.
After that, scan the QR code on the device attached to the top of the rear wheel of the bicycle.
After scanning the QR code, wait for up to 1 minute, the lock will open, and you can remove the bike from the cradle and ride it.

If the app does not rent, you need to enable Bluetooth and GPS (location information) of your smartphone. Also, if you use wireless earphones, you may not be able to rent them. In this case, you can use the wireless earphones after turning off Bluetooth.

Also, check the tightness of tires, brakes, chains and saddles before riding the bicycle. It is recommended to wear a hard hat, and while riding a bicycle, driving under the influence of alcohol, using a cell phone, or using earphones is prohibited.

And, you move through the bicycle path, and if there is no bicycle path, you can move by attaching to the right edge of the road. However, it is always necessary to pay attention to safe driving when using the roadway. At crosswalks, get off the bike and drag it.

Sprout Ttareungi has the same rental and return method as QR Ttareungi.
