2. Conditions for applying for unemployment benefits
To apply for unemployment benefits, you must meet several application conditions.
● You must have worked at a job eligible for unemployment benefits, that is, a workplace covered by employment insurance, for a total of 180 days or more during the 18 months prior to the date of unemployment. (Periods worked at workplaces not covered by employment insurance are not included.)
● You must be currently unemployed and willing and able to work. This must be an involuntary change of job against one’s will, and the person must not be able to find a job despite active job search activities.

3. Unemployment benefit period and payment amount
1) Period of receiving unemployment benefits
In the case of unemployment benefits, payments can be received for 120 to 270 days depending on the recipient’s age, disability, and employment insurance subscription period. It depends on the length of time the employee has been employed, the number of hours worked per day, and the worker’s age.
