Find Kakao Pay password
• Finding your Kakao Pay password can be viewed as password re-registration.
• Kakao Pay authentication is an enhanced security feature and does not provide password recovery even if the password is lost. If you have forgotten your password, you must delete the certificate and reissue it.
■ Kakao Pay password change registration and re-registration (reset) 카카오페이 인증서 비밀번호
The use of Kakao Pay password is restricted for 5 consecutive errors. It must be used after re-registration of the password.
(1) ❶ Run KakaoTalk app

(3) Go to the Kakao Pay main screen and click ❸ ‘pay ○ Won (Kakao Pay icon)’ or ‘Assets’
(4) Go to ❺ ‘Settings’ from ❹ ‘Service’ in the top tab menu.
(5) On the Kakao Pay setting screen, you can change the password from the ❻ ‘Password’ management item to a new password.
(6) Change password

❽ Authentication password: Change the existing Kakao Pay certificate password to a new password

○ Kakao Pay password
• Change the existing Kakao Pay password to a new password
• You must know the existing Kakao Pay password to register for change.
• Used for payment by card, Kakao Pay Money, and remittance
(1) Click ‘Kakao Pay Password’
(2) Existing password → Enter 6-digit (numeric) password
(3) New password → Enter 6 digits (numeric)
(4) Once again → Enter a new 6-digit (numeric) password (2-step verification process)
(5) Password change is complete.

• Change the existing Kakao Pay certificate password to a new password
• You need to know the existing Kakao Pay certificate password to set it.
• Kakao Pay authentication is an enhanced security feature and does not provide password recovery even if the password is lost. If you have forgotten your password, you must delete the certificate and reissue it.
(1) Click ‘Authentication Password’
(2) Existing password → Enter 8~15 digits of Kakao Pay certificate password
(3) New password → Enter 8~15 digits (uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, special characters)
(4) Once again → Enter 8 to 15 digits (uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters) (2-step verification procedure)
(5) Password change is complete.

○ I forgot my password.
• After going through the Kakao Pay password authentication process, re-register the password
• Re-register when you forget your existing Kakao Pay password.
• If you click “I forgot my password”, it moves to the password re-registration screen.
You must go through the three-step verification process to reset your password.

• You must re-register the password to use the account, which is restricted due to 5 consecutive Kakao Pay password errors.
(1) Click ❿ “I forgot my password.”
(2) On the password re-registration screen, click ‘Start re-registration’ at the bottom of the screen
For safe use, press “Start re-registration” to reset the password and re-register.
Kakao account password verification, identity verification, and Kakao Pay password re-registration will be performed in the following order.
(3) Check the current password of your Kakao account on the Kakao account screen
There is a password field for your email account and your Kakao account. The email account is automatically entered, but the password for the Kakao account is the current password.

(4) Mobile phone authentication procedure
“Oh, wait!” Next, proceed with the mobile phone verification process.
➀ Enter your name, resident registration number, and mobile phone number to go to the carrier selection screen.
② If you select a registered mobile operator, the mobile operator is automatically entered.
③ From here, scroll up the screen and click “Request Verification Number”.
④ Check “I agree to all terms and conditions of identity verification” and press OK.
(5) A 6-digit mobile phone verification verification code message from Kakao Pay appears at the top of the screen.
The mobile phone verification code is automatically entered, so just click “OK”.
The method of use may differ depending on the model of the mobile phone. In some cases, you may enter the verification code sent by text message.
(7) The ‘Password Registration’ screen appears with the Kakao Pay icon at the top of the screen.
Enter the new 6-digit Kakao Pay password (numeric) in the password field to re-register.

Re-enter the 6-digit number to go through the two-step verification process.
(7) OK
(8) When a message from the Kakao team stating that the Kakao account ‘password has been changed’ is received
