노후경유차 조기폐차 지원금Starting this year, subsidies will be given priority when vehicles from low-income households or those making a living are scrapped early. It was decided to include class 4 diesel vehicles equipped with emission reduction devices (DPF), which had been excluded from the target so far, in the early scrapping support.
The city will invest a total of 24 billion won this year to support the early scrapping of 6,000 class 4 cars, 500 class 5 cars, and 200 types of construction equipment (3 types for road use and 2 types for non-road use).
If you are selected for early scrapping support, you can receive scrapping subsidy and additional vehicle purchase support within the upper limit. For class 4 vehicles, up to 8 million won is supported for vehicles weighing less than 3.5 tons, and up to 78 million won for cars weighing more than 3.5 tons and exceeding 7,500 cc.
Subsistence vehicles and small business owners of low-income groups, such as recipients of national basic livelihood security and the second-lowest income class, can receive an additional payment of 1 million won within the upper limit.
In order to distribute subsidies evenly to more citizens, the city increased the announcement from once a year to three times a year and refined the support criteria.
Until now, with the first-come-first-served payment method, there was a problem in which several applicants received subsidies for a large number of prematurely scrapped vehicles at the beginning of each year, resulting in early termination of subsidy payments.
In the first announcement starting on the 4th of next month, the city plans to receive applications worth about 6 billion won on a first-come, first-served basis, as it did last year, and in the second and third announcements in June and August, it plans to give subsidies by giving priority to low-income people.
In addition, as the operation of class 4 vehicles within the Hanyangdoseong green traffic area will be restricted from 2025, it has been decided to support class 4 diesel vehicles from this year regardless of whether they are equipped with an emission reduction device or not.
Those eligible to apply are vehicles and construction machinery that have been registered in Seoul or the air management area for more than six months as of the date of application.
Applications for early scrapping support for class 4 and 5 diesel vehicles can be made through the automobile emissions computer system (www.mecar.or.kr) or via registered mail or email, and applications for early scrapping of construction machinery can be made via registered mail or email.
