There are two main ways to check car accident history

*Car Complaints National Portal (Car 365)
-Search for Car 365 in the search bar and enter the site. You can see the main categories on the main screen. Click on Integrated History Search to enter.

-You need to use the Other Person’s Vehicle Information Search, but in the case of the Owner’s Non-Consent menu, you need to obtain the consent of the existing owner to search in detail due to limited information.

-Other vehicle information inquiry history (if the owner consents)
Vehicle basic information, inspection history, maintenance history, mandatory insurance subscription information, automobile tax delinquency history, used car performance inspection history, seizure registration history, mortgage registration history, scrapping information, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport approved information

-Other vehicle information inquiry history (if the owner does not consent)
Vehicle basic information, maintenance history count, inspection history, used car performance inspection count, automobile tax delinquency count, mandatory insurance subscription, number of seizures and mortgages, scrapping certificate issuance, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport approved information

*Car History
-Car History, operated by the Insurance Development Institute, allows you to search all accident and flood history processed by insurance.
(It is operated for a fee, but it is safe to check it in order to purchase a car safely.)
*However, please note that if you are not subscribed to your own car insurance, even if a total loss accident occurs, the insurance history will not be recorded and will not appear in Car History.

1. Search for Car History in the search bar and enter the site. You will see the car accident history search and enter the vehicle number you want to search for.
2. After entering the vehicle number and clicking Search, you will see the phrase “Vehicles available for search” if the vehicle is available for search.
3. You can pay the fee to search the accident history and pay through a discount search of 770 won per case up to 5 times a year.
4. When you search, you will see a simple summary and you can also check the owner change history and special accident history information.

– You can check the insurance accident history details through Car History.
* If there is no insurance history, it is not an accident-free vehicle, so you need to check the actual vehicle carefully, and if the vehicle is too cheap compared to the actual vehicle, it is better to be suspicious.

Reasons for checking the car accident history
– Even if you purchase a new car, it is essential to check whether there are any problems in the manufacturing process and whether it is operating normally.
If it is a used car, you need to check it not only by looking at it with your eyes but also by searching the accident history. If you buy a car you like in a hurry and find a defect later, you may end up spending more, so be careful.

– When purchasing a used car, you should first check the model year, options, mileage, and accident history.
When checking the accident history, you can check the model year, accident history, and insurance amount, but you should not completely trust everything. Even if there was an accident, if you did not claim the repair cost from the insurance company and received cash for repairs or if there was a period when you did not subscribe to your own car insurance, you need to check the performance inspection report even if there is no history.

Things to know when purchasing a used car
1. You should check the insurance history and accident history.

– When purchasing a used car, you must check the insurance history and accident history. It is better to avoid vehicles for which it is difficult to check the insurance history because you cannot know whether there was an accident. If a vehicle has been in an accident in the past and the steel frame has been reattached, it may have been in a major accident, so you should avoid it. – If there are no problems after the test drive, the vehicle registration certificate, performance record book, and official contract performance record book will confirm the presence or absence of an accident, so be sure to check them, and it is better to see the originals in person rather than checking online.

2. Choose a vehicle with a lower mileage if possible.

– When comparing the vehicle year and mileage, a vehicle with a lower mileage is better. Since engine-related warranties usually change based on 100,000 kilometers, it is better to look for a vehicle with less than 100,000 kilometers.

3. You should search for chronic problems of the vehicle you want to buy.

– Since used vehicles are not new cars, there is a high probability that they have been exposed to chronic diseases. Since chronic diseases can differ depending on the year of release, you should find out more and search for them.

– Also, you should never buy a flooded vehicle. If the car smells bad, the engine stalls, is noisy, or there are traces of dirt or water on the seat belt and trunk, you should not rule out the possibility that it is a flooded vehicle.

4. Check performance and mandatory subscription

-You should check whether the vehicle condition matches the performance and condition inspection record through a test drive and check whether the paint surface of the vehicle’s exterior is even. You also need to check for contamination inside the vehicle.
