We introduce major information related to people with disabilities next year that will change according to the finalization of the budget.
Next year, the basic and additional benefits of the disabled pension will be increased, and a maximum of 424,000 won will be paid for a single household.
This is because the basic benefit, which is protective in nature due to loss or reduction in work ability due to disability, will be increased by 3.3%, and the additional benefit, which compensates for costs incurred due to disability, will be increased by 10,000 won. Currently, the maximum monthly payment for a single-family household is 323,180 won in basic salary and 80,000 won in additional benefit, for a total of 403,180 won.
The number of people eligible for additional benefits to support activities for people with severe disabilities will expand from 6,000 to 10,000 this year, and the number of additional benefit hours will also increase from 151.5 hours per month to 195 hours. In particular, a new training and professional allowance for support service workers for people with severe developmental disabilities has been established, and 50,000 won per month will be paid.
In order to establish a customized one-on-one care system for people with the most severe developmental disabilities, weekly group type (1,500 people) and weekly individual one-to-one (500 people) care were newly established, and 24-hour individual care, which is being piloted in Gwangju Metropolitan City, was expanded nationwide. Expanded to 17 cities and provinces.
The number of people eligible for developmental rehabilitation services will also increase from 79,000 to 80,600 this year. This service provides vouchers for disabled children under the age of 18 to use rehabilitation treatment in the areas of language, art/music, behavior/play/psychology, sensory/motor, etc. for the behavioral development of children with disabilities under the age of 6 who are expected to have a disability. Services are also provided for infants and toddlers.
As for childcare support for families with disabled children, the number of hours provided for home care services for children with severe disabilities will be expanded from 960 hours per year to 1,080 hours per year by adding 120 hours. In addition, jobs for disabled people who are vulnerable to employment will be provided to 32,000 people, an increase of 2,000 from 30,000 this year.
A new organization dedicated to the hearing and visually impaired will also be established, and a fact-finding survey will be conducted on the hearing and visually impaired and those with borderline intelligence.
The budget for employment incentives for the disabled was confirmed to be 311.9 billion won, an increase of 30.2 billion won compared to this year, and the unit price for supporting commuting costs for severely disabled people will be increased from 70,000 won to 90,000 won per month.
To strengthen employment promotion, the number of people eligible for the Employment Success Package for the Disabled was increased from 11,000 to 13,000 this year, and an early employment success allowance was also established.
In order to support workers with severe disabilities in maintaining a stable and continuous work life, support for worker support will be increased by 500 from this year to 11,000 people. The target audience for the disabled internship program, which is intended to encourage conversion to regular workers by providing internship opportunities to severely and elderly disabled people who find it significantly difficult to find employment, will also be expanded from 700 to 1,000 this year.
Support for the establishment of 25 standard workplaces to expand employment infrastructure, support of 1,000 assistive technology devices, establishment of 4 digital customized training centers, and establishment of 5 virtual training systems at development training centers will also be provided.
The number of people eligible for ‘sports course vouchers’ to support daily sports activities will be expanded from 106,000 to 140,000 this year. The support amount will also be increased from 95,000 won to 110,000 won for the disabled and 100,000 won for children and teenagers.
The budget for customized support projects for the disabled, including KRW 29.1 billion in support for disabled artists, increased from KRW 270.1 billion to KRW 285.5 billion this year.
