피부관리사 자격증 Obtain a skin care technician license and start a skin care shop

Interested in becoming a skin care professional?
There always seems to be a lot of interest in being pretty. Especially as I enter my 30s, my skin loses elasticity, my pores seem to become saggy, blemishes increase, and my skin concerns become more and more common. Naturally, I get upset every time I look in the mirror.

I buy a lot of expensive cosmetics, thinking that I should apply sunscreen with better ingredients and good basic cosmetics, but in fact, I feel that the one or three treatments I receive at a skin care salon makes my condition better.

If you have always been interested in skin or beauty care, you are probably taking care of your skin regularly at home. And most of them are also interested in skin care technician certification. Although I am currently working at a company, I also became curious about skin care technician certification as there are many people who are looking into starting a skin care shop in the future.

Skin care technician certification
At Qnet, which manages national qualifications, there is a certificate called Esthetician for hairdressers (skin). You can take the test for 14,500 won for the written test and 27,500 won for the practical test, and the administering agency is the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. The acquisition cost is likely to be around 1 million won, including material costs.

written test
Written exams are taken in the areas of cosmetology, dermatology, anatomy and physiology, dermatology, hygiene, and cosmetology, and since it is in a question bank format, memorization is required. (Choose 4 choices, 60-minute exam) The passing rate for most written exams is so high that it is not difficult to study on your own.

Practical test
The practical training is a skin care practice that takes about 2 to 3 hours. You can practice on mannequins and have the opportunity to practice on people around you. At the test site, proctors divide the test takers and supervise them, and they can complete the facial care, limb care, and lymphatic drainage tasks according to the given time. Most people cannot prepare for the practical exam on their own, so they go to a beauty academy for 3 to 4 months to prepare.

After passing the skin care technician exam
If you score 60 points or more out of 100 in both the written and practical tests, you can obtain a national certification as a skin care professional. You can obtain a national qualification and apply to the city, county or district office to receive a license, or obtain a comprehensive license after graduating from university and get a job or open a skin care shop.

Is it possible to receive national funding for skin care providers? Tomorrow’s Learning Card?
In each region, there are some beauty schools that accept the government-funded Tomorrow Learning Card and some that do not. You can find out about this on the National Tomorrow Learning Card website.

피부관리사 자격증

Anyone who is not licensed as a beautician (skin) may not open a skin care salon or engage in business.
If you assist with work under the supervision of a beautician (skin), you may engage in the work without a license.
Skin care work is not permitted in locations other than the skin care room.
Cost of starting a skin care shop
It may vary depending on the size of the shop, but start-up costs usually start from 20 million won. These days, many people are interested in aesthetics, so rather than opening an individual shop right away, some people start with a franchise to reduce initial costs. (Skin shop sales + cosmetics sales)

It seems that there are many cases where people take a skin care certification course while working, then get their license and start a small, one-person business. If you are interested in starting a skin care shop, you will need to think about which one is right for you, such as the government-funded Tomorrow Learning Card, a franchise, or meeting the owners of private shops. go for it!
